The Noosa River is regarded as one of the best fishing rivers on
the east coast of Australia.
Good catches of Whiting and Flathead are to be had all year round,
though the early summer months produce the best fish.
Bream catches in May, June and July are fantastic with excellent
quality fish both in the river and on off the beaches.
Trevally and Jacks turn on the action in the river during the warmer
months.
The upper reaches of the Noosa River are regarded as the best Bass
grounds in Australia, with most fish taken from October through
to April.
Blue Water fishing off Noosa provides plenty of fun for the light
line person with Mackerel, Tuna, Cobia, Black Marlin and Starfish
turning it on during the summer months. Plenty of reef fish on close-in
reefs with colder months producing the best catches.
Sand crabs and Mug crabs are taken in the warmer months with a
good feed of crabs to be had with little effort.
