Noosa Net is a business directory at noosanet.com.au. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Business listing details: such as a business name, phone number, address, website and any other details you submit for your listing. Listing details are published on the site and can be seen by anyone.
- Account details: your email address, and the login details you use to manage your listing.
- Contact form messages: if you use a listing’s contact form, we collect your name, email address, message and anything else you include.
- Payment records: if you buy a paid listing, we keep a record of the purchase, such as the plan, amount and date.
- Technical information: such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, along with information from cookies.
How we use it
We use personal information to publish and manage listings, run user accounts, pass on contact form messages, process paid listings, respond to enquiries, keep the site secure, prevent spam and misuse, and meet our legal obligations.
Contact form messages
When you send a message through a listing’s contact form, it is forwarded to the business you are contacting. That business will see your details and message, and handles them under its own privacy practices. Please do not include sensitive information in your message.
Payments
Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe (Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd). Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on this site. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
Who we share it with
We share personal information with listed businesses when you contact them, and with service providers who help us run the site, such as our website host and payment provider. We may also share it when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
Stripe may store and process payment data outside Australia, including in the United States, under its own privacy policy: stripe.com/au/privacy. This website and its data are hosted in Australia.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to keep you logged in, remember your preferences and help the site work properly. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, such as logging in, may stop working.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No website is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us online. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires.
Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing us at listings@noosanet.com.au. You can also update your listing and account details by logging in. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to confirm your identity first.

If you have a privacy concern, please email us at listings@noosanet.com.au and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
